Inside POV Budapest, a star-studded design conference like no other

“The headspace that a conference creates is very special; it’s a manner of thinking and investigating and listening and being open, and being available to see the thinking behind a lot of the work that we’ve all seen in the world,” says Andrea Trabucco-Campos of Pentagram in POV Budapest’s ‘Interview’ cut. It’s true – a conference is sort of a portal, it can whisk you away to another world where design legends are at arm’s reach and their work is dissected and open for all to see and learn from. POV Budapest was one such portal, which for two days in the heart of the city, became a meeting point for the who’s who of the design industry. CM.SUPPLY and COMET brought their best minds together to bring the conference to life. “There were many rewarding aspects of putting the show together, but what stood out most for me was the ability to bring together such a diverse mix of voices, brands, and local communities under one cohesive vision. Over time, this has naturally grown into a platform where meaningful connections thrive – and those on the outside can’t help but feel a little FOMO,” says Co-founder Mátyás Czél. “To our surprise, we reached a truly international audience, with guests from 46 countries travelling to join us for just a few days. Inspired by the idea of speaking from your own perspective – as many of our speakers did – we designed the experience in a way we personally would have loved, with care, excitement, and a touch of hospitality, almost like running a guesthouse!” Co-founder Boldizsár Mátyás tells us. “Looking ahead, we hope this momentum inspires local stakeholders to engage more deeply, allowing us to connect with the local scene in a more holistic way and ensure the right voices are part of the conversation when it matters most,” adds Czél.
