A decade of design: thoughts, reflections, and aspirations with Studio8585’s Mario Depicolzuane
“Elegance in our designs is about marrying timeless beauty with functionality,” says Mario Depicolzuane. It’s a mindset that encapsulates Studio8585, a creative practice launched over ten years ago, and currently led by Europe-based Art Directors and Graphic Designers Benja Pavlin and Depicolzuane. From the branding of The Pavilia Farm to their ongoing collaboration with architectural design studio OWIU, their small and robust team show a dedication to creating elegant and impactful solutions in everything they do. Especially within their own self-initiated books! Reflecting on their past ten years as a studio, Depicolzuane chats with us about the past, present, and future of Studio8585: their standout projects, the evolution of the team, and the challenges and considerations of coordinating a remote studio. PT: Hey Mario, how are you? MD: Thank you for this opportunity! I’m feeling energised and refreshed after an inspiring trip to Paris. We’re in the thick of exciting client and in-house projects, and I can’t wait to dive into the details with you.
