B.A.M. redesigns Christie’s Magazine, introducing a new format, cover and bespoke type family
Christie’s is a world-renowned auction house that was founded in the UK in 1766 by James Christie. Annually, they offer around 350 auctions in over 80 categories, including fine and decorative art, jewellery, photography and wine, with prices ranging from $200 to $100 million. Six times a year, Christie’s produce a magazine and distribute it exclusively to their most important clients and advisors around the world. As the centrepiece of their editorial output, the magazine contains articles on art, philanthropy, culture and design and offers a unique preview of the upcoming season’s auctions. London-based design studio B.A.M. has been creative directing the magazine since 2014 and was recently appointed to develop a bold and impactful redesign, with the aim of keeping Christie’s at the forefront of today’s fast-moving art world whilst maintaining a high level of sophistication, elegance and clarity.
