Design & Practice craft Antalis Creative Power Awards’ magazine, featuring the best in print design

Amsterdam-based creative studio Design & Practice have extended their working relationship with Antalis, crafting a publication for the global paper company that details the finalists and winners of the Antalis Creative Power Awards. Having also been judges in the competition – alongside our team at The Brand Identity – Design & Practice’s Creative Director Golnar Roshan tells us, “it’s great to see what other designers are working on, how they work with paper and to delve deeper into their processes and narratives,” discussing their evolving role in the project. “To be able to experience the submissions physically as a judge,” she continues, “and then take it into a tactile print format is a unique opportunity,” due to their studio’s typical projects focusing directly on working with creative brands. “Therefore,” Roshan notes, “the project aligned perfectly with our core strengths and values.” The publication itself is a tactile exploration of paper and form, harnessing Monotype’s Abadi and Macklin Display as the primary and supporting typefaces – alongside Antalis’ prolific plethora of paper stocks; opting for Olin Origins Lava Stone, Olin Origins Cereal and Curious Collection Metallics Magma as the cover stocks, and Keaykolour Chalk, Olin Design Rough Cream and Olin Design Smooth High White as the internal papers. “The diversity in papers represents the diverse approach of the awards,” Roshan explains.
