From a studio’s own folders to a product: how Cruzada Supply started
Gabriel Sutherland and Iliana Zuleta co-founded the Venezuelan design studio Burgo to take on everything around design – carrying an idea from the first conversation through identity, campaigns and physical spaces. They held Burgo to the standards of the industry they wanted to be part of, determined that no client would be blocked by the complexity of international payments. Cruzada Supply turns the systems and shortcuts they collected along the way into resources for other creatives. The Ultimate Folder Setup is a folder hierarchy and naming convention; the Finance Command Center is a personal finance template for Notion that they’d been running in some form for around five years. In this interview, Sutherland tells us what running a studio asks of its founders, and why a product has to earn its place in someone’s workflow. TBI: Hi Gabriel! What’s keeping you and Iliana busy at the moment? GS: We find ourselves in this interesting phase where almost everything we’ve learned from running a creative business is starting to feed into something else.
