Halo Lab’s simple yet striking identity for Nexus Logistics cuts the fluff and gets to the point
Nexus Logistics is a modern and dynamic company specialising in global logistics and cargo delivery, known for their precise and efficient services. Partnering with the full-stack design and development team Halo Lab, the Boston-based company sought an identity that would reflect their innovative approach to logistics, and their commitment to delivering exceptional service. “The logo is built on the geometric letter ‘N,’” explains CEO Valentine Boyev, describing the bespoke new symbol, which has been designed to communicate dynamism, flow and precision. This, he continues, reflects the approach that Nexus takes in logistics, from start to finish. “If you imagine the logo as a journey,” Boyev notes, “the sharp corner is the beginning, followed by a smooth and flexible path, and it all wraps up with a confident finish at the destination.” To accompany the attention-grabbing symbol, Halo Lab opted for a lighter and more balanced approach to the wordmark. The typeface Sora (designed by Jonathan Barnbrook and Julián Moncada) – a sans serif Boyev describes as a “confident and simple grotesque” – offers versatile round forms, a high x-height, and generous counters that make it well-suited to the overall visual language of Nexus Logistics.
