How Sthuthi Ramesh built All Around Design as a transcultural practice
After five years working independently following stints at Pentagram, Made Thought and more, Sthuthi Ramesh has formalised her practice under a new name: All Around Design, a transcultural design studio that approaches branding through cultural fluidity rather than boundaries. Growing up in India and later settling in London has fundamentally shaped Ramesh’s perspective on how cultures interact and evolve through exchange – a philosophy that manifests in the studio’s work for an impressive roster of cultural institutions. The studio operates through a flexible collaborative model, expanding and contracting its team of designers based on project needs – a structure born from necessity as Ramesh balances running the practice with raising two young children. In this chat, she discusses the journey from postnatal depression to sustainable entrepreneurship, why she’s drawn to hand-crafted design foundations in an AI-dominated conversation, and how her experiences inform her approach to creating work that’s clear, distinct and purposeful. TBI: Hi Sthuthi! It’s been a little while – how are you? SR: I’m doing very well, thank you! I’m really excited about this interview and the opportunity to introduce All Around Design to the world.
