Koto reveals the secret recipe for dismantling design education barriers
Known for crafting brands for global giants like Amazon, Microsoft and WhatsApp, Koto has built its reputation on creating impactful work for the world’s most ambitious companies. But behind the glossy client roster lies a studio deeply committed to opening doors for the next generation of creatives. Enter Seasoned – their passion project turned comprehensive educational platform that’s serving up branding know-how with a deliciously playful twist. Born from internal conversations about diversity and access during lockdown, this digital hub uses a cooking metaphor to demystify the branding process, offering free eBooks that guide aspiring designers, strategists and copywriters from university to professional practice. We caught up with Client Director Emma Law and Creative Director Sam Howard from Koto’s London studio to discuss how they’re tackling the industry’s gatekeeping problem – one digital cookbook at a time. TBI: Hey Sam and Emma! Could you tell us a little bit about yourselves and how you both got involved with the Seasoned project? EL: I’m Emma, a Client Director at our London studio, and this is Sam, one of our Creative Directors, also in the London studio.
