Los York’s pixel-based system gives Netflix’s Eyeline a bold new vision
Eyeline, Netflix’s premiere VFX partner, has entered a new chapter. The studio, formerly known as Scanline VFX and Eyeline Studios, needed an identity that reflected both its evolution and its future. That’s where Los York stepped in. The award-winning LA-based creative company took on the challenge of creating a brand that could speak to two distinct audiences: the world’s top filmmakers seeking a studio capable of bringing ambitious ideas to life, and a new generation of VFX talent, engineers and artists shaping the next wave of the industry. The resulting identity is built around a deceptively simple idea: the pixel as origin. One spark, one drop, one building block that unlocks infinite visual potential. From this foundation, a modular, expressive design language unfolds. “The pixel quickly became the natural starting point – the smallest possible unit of vision, and a perfect metaphor for Eyeline’s work, where technology and creativity are inseparable,” explains Creative Director Michael Mavian. “Everything they make begins with a single point of light that expands into entire worlds.” Eyeline brings together three distinct divisions: VFX, Studios and Labs. Each represents a different dimension of the creative process, from world-class artistry and on-set virtual production to experimental technology. Los York’s solution began with a shared graphic DNA rooted in structure, precision and possibility, with each division taking on its own voice through colour. Studios uses red, VFX uses green and Labs uses blue – together forming a complete RGB spectrum, a nod to the elemental forces behind image-making. “Each represents a different dimension of the creative process,” notes Mavian. “Our goal was to build a single system that could flex across all three, creating distinction without losing coherence.”
