Love St. Studio’s identity for real estate project Fabricka combines charm with industrial precision

Taking inspiration from the Xabregas creative district it resides in, Barcelona-based Love St. Studio have created the identity for the millennial-focused real estate project Fabricka found in Lisbon, Portugal, consisting of a contemporary hotel, co-working spaces and apartments. Discussing the area itself, Love St.’s Carmo Mineiro tells us “this was a forgotten part of the city for decades, but in the last couple of years several artists and designers established their studios there,” adding “making east Lisbon one of the main creative hubs of the city.” Encouraged and influenced by Xabregas’ architecture, topology and innate contrasts, Love St. crafted a bespoke typeface for their wordmark to convey the urban individuality of its locale. “The letter F doesn’t have any thin lines because of its balance and morphology,” Mineiro explains, “besides that, as a symbol, it assumes a strong and bold presence, exactly as the building near the smooth Tagus river.” Adopting Beatrice as the brand’s supporting typeface, Love St. have developed an identity that is exactly as charming and precisely as reserved as it needed to be. Bolstered by a rectangular pattern and muted colour palette inspired by the industrial materials of the area and the refreshing ochre of the river – “making the connection between city and nature,” Mineiro notes – the application of the identity reservedly flaunts the uniqueness and charm of the neighbourhood with authenticity, tact and character.
