Maryan Ivasyk: building mockups at the intersection of two disciplines
Vienna-based brand designer Maryan Ivasyk has built a practice that thrives on creative partnerships and cultural preservation – working as a Senior Designer at Moodley while maintaining independent projects. His most distinctive partnership is with his wife Tania, an interior designer, combining their skills to create mockups that blend brand design with spatial thinking. Beyond commercial work, Ivasyk co-curates Logo Archive Ukraine with friend Victor Hupalo – a project dedicated to digitising and documenting Ukrainian trademarks from 1960 to 2000, preserving the stories of the designers behind them. In this interview, Ivasyk discusses how real dialogue builds client trust, what makes creative collaboration genuinely work, and why motivation matters more than talent when teaming up with other designers. TBI: Hi Maryan! How are things in Vienna? MI: This time of year always feels a bit different – Vienna’s super windy, and the weather changes every five minutes. One moment it’s sunny, the next it’s raining. What I love about the city is that weird mix of calm and chaos – it’s chill, but somehow always busy at the same time.
