Motion with meaning: how Velvele turned workflow frustrations into templates for the community
For Çağıl Aygen, Founder of Milan-based studio Velvele, the best creative solutions often emerge from the most practical problems. What started as workflow frustrations – spending countless hours building motion presentations from scratch – has evolved into a suite of After Effects templates now helping designers worldwide elevate their work. True to the studio’s Turkish-derived name meaning ‘making a fuss,’ Velvele has stirred up the design community by sharing tools that many studios would keep proprietary. This philosophy of creative generosity extends beyond digital products into every aspect of their boutique practice, where selective client partnerships and a commitment to meaningful storytelling drive their approach. We caught up with Aygen to discuss how solving their own challenges led to empowering others, and what's next for this intentionally small but impactful studio. TBI: Hi Çağıl! Could you tell us a little bit about yourself and how Velvele came to life? CA: Of course! I’m a creative director and brand consultant based in Milan. After over a decade of working in branding, I founded Velvele to offer a more intentional and hands-on approach. It’s a small team, but we punch above our weight. We work closely with clients to build meaningful, long-lasting brands – not just pretty logos. Velvele was born from a desire to slow down, think deeper, and create better.
