The Bar Brand People mirror Maybe Sammy’s high-end interior with the design of their cocktails

Maybe Sammy, Sydney’s pre-eminent cocktail bar, have collaborated with Sydney-based design studio The Bar Brand People on their new range of bottled, ready-to-pour cocktails; developing the range’s luxuriously styled identity and packaging system. Exuding an elegance and graphic refinement from bottle to box, the combination of reserved typography and high-end print production methods and materials leaves for not only a subtle and sophisticated aesthetic, but also an exciting and memorable experience. “Following Maybe Sammy’s recent ranking as #11 Best Bar in the World,” TBBP tell us, “we turned their attention to bringing the same award-winning flair into their customers’ homes,” they explain, working side-by-side to develop an experience that mirrors their elegance and expertise. “Physical elements of the design were considered in the colour and material choices for the bottled cocktail packaging,” TBBP recall, using the boxes’ colours to directly reference the venue’s own upholstery and interior design. “The green and gold colours have become synonymous with the Maybe Sammy brand,” they add, “and this palette was extended across the packaging details.” The identity’s simplicity and consistency are provided through TBBP’s typographic choices. “It was imperative that the product spoke for itself,” TBBP tell us, “so the typeface choice needed to be simple and classic,” opting for TT Norms Bold throughout. The typeface in question not only conveys the desired timelessness and grace of the product, but was also practically selected for its “appropriate translation to print finishes for optimal legibility and impact,” TBBP explain.
