The typographic trio: we have curated three beautiful typography books into a very limited bundle

Accompanying the exhibition Types We Can Make, the book of the same name reflects on the design methodologies taught at ECAL, the Swiss art and design university. It highlights typefaces created by graduates and collaborations with external partners. Furthermore, it demonstrates their application in various formats such as editions of Sang Bleu magazine, logos for Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, artist monographs for Die Gestalten and JRP Ringier, and art direction and poster design by Körner Union and Tatiana Rihs. In Nigel Cottier’s ongoing study, Letterform Variations, he explores the construction of letterforms using basic grid and shape-based systems. The project showcases the potential of these systems to generate a vast array of unique alphabetical outcomes. Cottier’s meticulous categorisation and editing process resulted in 19,840 competent and visually appealing representations of alphabetic forms, all derived from a single framework. This comprehensive 692-page book showcases the remarkable range of letters he has created thus far. Thaipography captures British designer Tim Sumner's visual journey across the Kingdom of Thailand. It illustrates an eclectic collection of typographic forms, produced on a great variety of different materials, found in their natural environment. Capturing these images became a daily obsession during Sumner's time in the country. He began to notice various objects, which are usually overlooked as banal elements of everyday life. The book and its accompanying bespoke typeface were conceived as a way to showcase this pictorial archive and allow everyone else to gain a fresh perspective and appreciation for ‘Thaipography.’
