TM explores how colour makes you feel in Fedrigoni’s 365 2026 edition

by TM ·

Since 2017, Fedrigoni’s annual 365 project has functioned as a design ritual. Each year, hundreds of creatives gather around a shared brief, transforming the calendar format into something tactile and considered. The 2026 edition arrives with a fundamental shift in structure and approach, evolving the single-volume format into 13 individual books that, when arranged together, form a complete colour wheel. The decision to present the work this way stems from wanting colour to be understood as a continuous system rather than isolated samples. Each book acts as a chromatic chapter, focusing on a specific colour family whilst exploring variations that emerge through changes in paper, texture, weight and finish. Viewed individually, the books invite focused engagement with a particular range of hues. Placed together, they reveal the full spectrum – balance, contrast and transition made physical. This structure reinforces what TM, the studio behind the project since its inception, describes as the CMF philosophy: Colour, Material, Finish. The framework shaped the full creative brief. Contributors received a number, a paper and a colour, then responded to a single question: “How does colour make you feel?” The shift moved interpretation from purely visual into emotional and sensorial responses. “Contributors were not asked simply to design a composition for a date, but to respond to a specific colour and paper as an emotional stimulus,” explains Danny McNeil, Creative Director at TM. “The result is a collective body of work that reflects diverse emotional encounters with colour.” The CMF lens acknowledges that colour never exists in isolation on paper. A cool blue shifts from calm to distant depending on texture. Red moves between warm, intimate, aggressive or celebratory depending on weight, surface and sheen. By grouping papers of similar tones but different characters, the format makes these subtle transformations visible. The system treats colour, material and finish as interconnected elements of a single design language rather than separate decisions.
