What is The Future Of The Studio? Together with Brandpad, we predict shifts in skills and schedules
Welcome to The Future Of, a series presented in collaboration with digital brand guidelines platform Brandpad. Over the course of six articles, we’re speaking to the brightest designers, studios and agencies about the future of graphic design, unspooling the ideas that will shape tomorrow. In the third chapter, we’re looking at the future of creative studios and teams. Will the industry lean harder towards remote work, or will designers want to return to office? How will the make up of creative teams change? In a few years or decades, what will be different about where, how and when designers work? We took our questions to three top studios. In the wake of the pandemic, the traditional office work model has been radically altered, making remote and hybrid working feel like the future brought forward. For some companies, this new way of working has seamlessly integrated itself into their operations, while others are itching to get back to the office. As the creative industries navigate this transformative period, we’re curious to explore what the future holds for studios and creative teams. We posed a question to three studios – Christopher Doyle & Co., Output and For Good Measure – what might the future of the design studio look like? In an ideal, yet realistic world, what changes, and what stays the same? Their answers spread across three areas – where we work, how we work, and when we work.
