Yee Poon embraces controlled chaos in Ravers2Runners’ “loud” identity
When Bristol-based running collective Ravers2Runners needed an identity for their second annual Festival Fun Run Series, they turned to local designer Yee Poon with a brief that perfectly encapsulated their grassroots ethos. “The only real direction was: keep it energetic, keep it grassroots, and make it feel like them,” Poon explains. “Nothing overly polished or corporate. The identity had to reflect the slightly chaotic, community-first nature of what they do.” Ravers2Runners operates at the intersection of movement, music and mental wellbeing, organising charity runs within and around major UK festivals including Glastonbury, Boomtown and Love Saves The Day. Their approach to fundraising – which they’ve dubbed ‘fund-raving’ – demanded a visual language that could capture both the physicality of running and the euphoric energy of rave culture. Poon’s solution centres on what she describes as “a system designed to feel loud, fast and alive… and with a bit of that lo-fi rave flyer vibe.” The identity embraces controlled chaos through stacked typography, rhythmic layouts and raw textures that mirror the collective’s no-pressure approach to fitness. “The runs aren’t about performance or chasing personal bests, they’re about showing up, moving together to sick tunes and raising money for a good cause,” Poon notes. “That became the core principle: movement and immediacy, in form and function.”
