Feelings first: Ben Steers on the collaborative rebranding of Fiasco and building creative communities
The best things happen when you bring like-minded people together. Whether it’s to spark creativity, share ideas, or build something larger than themselves, collaboration has always been at the core of Ben Steers and Jason Smith’s approach. In addition to growing their award-winning design studio, Fiasco, the duo has anchored a creative community in Bristol and, more recently, Bath, with the launch of the Trinity Church venue of their co-working space, Gather Round, a creative workspace housed in a repurposed 19th-century church. But the momentum doesn’t stop there, as the team has recently unveiled their most ambitious rebrand to date. Drawing on 15 years of evolution and growth, they reveal their refreshed identity. We caught up with Steers to learn how the agency’s new direction reflects its evolution, its creative approach, and what lies ahead for both Fiasco and its broader creative ventures. PT: Hi Ben! How are you doing? BS: It’s been a whirlwind few months, but the sun is shining and I’m feeling good, thank you.
