The Edit: five projects including How&How’s identity that speaks directly to Big Cartel’s audience
Each and every day, we’re lucky to discover dozens of interesting and inspiring projects from around the world. From global identities and campaigns to side projects and independently published books, The Edit is home to five of them; every two weeks. Big Cartel, a name familiar to those who sell their art and crafts online, has been a frontrunner in empowering independent creators since 2005, transforming their creative passions into thriving businesses. How&How, working with the company, have repositioned Big Cartel as a platform for indie creators to launch their businesses without hesitation or compromise. By stripping away the complexities of e-commerce and embracing a bold, scrappy aesthetic – coupled with illustrations evocative of the hurried scribbles of fresh ideas – the new look captures the entrepreneurial spirit of its community while making the path to selling online more accessible than ever. Evoking an air of sophistication and timelessness, Storied Volume II, Bellissimo Segreto, represents the Italian entry into Arhaus’s artisanal storytelling series (documenting the furniture and decor retailer’s artisan partners found throughout the world), created in collaboration with Opal. The cover design features a minimalist and elegant approach that reflects the book’s focus on Italian artistry, complemented by its interior pages, which are printed on high-quality, toothy paper that adds a tactile dimension to the experience. With a pairing of Louize by 205TF and GT America by Grilli Type, the typography is intentionally pared back, with embossed treatments used sparingly.
