“We work as a gas and a brake pedal.” No-code websites 101 with Maryan Ivasyk and Emil Tybura
Maryan Ivasyk and Emil Tybura go back a long way. Ivasyk, a designer and art director met Tybura, a no-code developer and web designer in university, and yet, back then, they hadn’t quite identified their specialisations. As time passed, their careers veered towards different directions as they sharpened their individual skill sets, and one day, they began working together. Today, they’re a two-man army developing identities and websites from end to end – bringing the worlds of design and development together – thanks to the freewheeling spirit of their collaborative practice. For designers, creating a website from scratch can sometimes be a daunting task. And yet, “you don’t have to be a large agency to implement your digital projects,” assures Ivasyk. “It sounds super obvious, and it is, but the development part is challenging for designers. Sometimes very nice projects end up in the prototype stage, but don’t go through to the end. We are not talking about big projects – like e-commerce websites – but even small websites sometimes are not easy to implement.” This is a problem Ivasyk and Tybura have been able to crack together, working as partners and each other’s sounding boards. They bounce ideas off of each other, and work as a tag team, ultimately delivering sharp, functional websites. Here, they take us through their process, share some pointed advice on how to start small but think big, and tell us why they’ve come to think of themselves “as a gas and a brake pedal.” RB: Hello, Maryan and Emil! How is the start of the year treating you?
