Karina Tyncherova Explores Jodorowsky’s Dune in a Desert Exhibition Experience

The exhibition “ARRAKIS” is dedicated to Alejandro Chodorovski’s movie project “Dune”, which was never released due to long filming in 1975. The name of the project was chosen for a reason: Arrakis is the key desert planet in the “Dune” universe. A surreal, diffuse, mysterious, dune-like typeface was developed for the project. First I designed it without sand, then I added the sand itself. Therefore, the font is universal: it can be used in different ways. Next, the identity of the exhibition and the space itself was developed to accompany the font. The identity includes the font, color solutions, souvenirs, outdoor advertising, and the design of the exhibition space.
